This wine is named in reference to our 13th century Johnston Scottish border clan heritage, when in 1633, under Charles 1st, bestowed Lord James Johnston, to become Earl of Hartfell, then later, Earl of Annandale.
The bouquet has aromas of black cherry, plum, cassis and raspberry complemented with mocha and vanilla. the palate continues with rich intense fruit flavours of blackberry, plums, coconut, spice and toasted oak delivering a well-balanced wine.
This wine will reward with drinking now or mature with cellaring under the right conditions.
