Named after the picturesque Stock's Hill vineyard, acquired by ACJ in 1892, that overlooks the winer and estate, selected for its topography and excellent, fin draining, red loam over limestone and ironstone.
This Grenache has a lifted bouquet of raspberries, dark cherries and a hint of white pepper. Its palate is well integrated with light toasted vanillin and pomegranate complementing the dark cherry flavours.
Fermented in static fermenters with gentle pump overs each day. Each parcel was then pressed, settled and matured with a selection French oak prior to being blended.
Sourced from selected blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon 73% and Merlot 27% the base wines were matured in a selection of 2- and 3-year-old French oak barriques for 2 years.
